Each Christmas season, the stars atop the oil derricks in Kilgore are lit, creating a magically bright and colorful display in Historic Downtown Kilgore at A Very Derrick Christmas. One of Kilgore’s seasonal favorites, this event includes the annual lighting of the derricks ceremony, shopping at the Kris Kringle Market, along with games and activities. This year’s theme is having fun with games and activities with the theme “Christmas In The Oil Patch.

‘Tis the season to be nostalgic! This year the Texas Shakespeare Festival will be re-broadcasting two radio dramas recorded by the Texas Shakespeare Festival in recent years. Productions of A Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street will be shared for your listening pleasure. Curl up by the radio (or computer) with a warm beverage and listen from the comfort of home.
Kilgore College Rangerettes Christmas Extravaganza

The Rangerette Christmas Show began in 2011 and is now an annual tradition. It is a community event including the Kilgore High School Hi-Steppers, Kilgore area dance studios, guest performers and features the Rangerettes. It is a Broadway style show and a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season. Christmas show for 2020 is excited to announce we are moving to the beautiful LeTourneau University Belcher Center in Longview, Texas. In order to maximize the audience while maintaining proper social distancing. Tickets may be purchased online through The Belcher Center Box Office beginning November 2, 2020. Forest Home Baptist Church “Christmas in The Woods” Drive-Through Nativity
Dec. 10-12 6-9pm
Scheduled for the second weekend in December, Forest Home Baptist Church presents the Christmas story for the entire community. The Nativity is presented from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday – Saturday nights. The cost is free. You may drive through the presentation, or you can choose to go through on a hayride. There are over 150 cast members in 13 different scenes. Free hot chocolate is also given to everyone who drives through. You will see scenes including Santa’s workshop, Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, The Polar Express, Singers and Handbell ringers, a biblical Market, the Shepherds in the field, the Nativity, and much more. Begun in 1993, the Drive-Through Nativity has become a family tradition for much of East Texas.

As one of the city’s most brilliant places to celebrate the holiday season, #HistoricDowntown Kilgore, along with the Kilgore Historical Foundation lighted oil derricks provide a festive backdrop for families and friends to enjoy a magical night and make memories that last a lifetime. The merchant storefront windows are filled with festive décor and lights.
This residence is the only spot in Kilgore where you can listen to Christmas tunes and watch the lights and décor move in rhythm to the songs. So, get your iPhone video ready and turn the radio to 107.9fm.
Located outside of Kilgore on Stone Road and FM. 2276, it’s hard to miss the bright festive trees from a distance as the trees on the property are covered with Christmas lights that have some added Texas flair.
This festive light scene is located at Liberty City’s Hugh Camp Memorial Park 5716 Old Hwy 135, Kilgore, TX. The Christmas in the Park lights display returns this year with Sante and Mrs. Claus. Christmas in the Park is free and open to the public through New Year’s Day. Santa and Mrs. Claus also are set to appear 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11-12 and 18-19. Due to COVID_19 safety precautions, Santa and Mrs. Claus will remain on the porch of his house set up at the park, and children and parents are requested to stay off the porch.
Bear Creek at Hollowstone Ranch
Complete with lights and glimmer that came been seen from the road as you approach, this residence is located in a rural area west of Kilgore at FM. 3053 and Red Level Loop 1113, Kilgore, Texas.
This residence has brought Christmas joy for years with their annual light displays. We even hear that the neighborhood has some glowing holiday lights too.
