Kilgore is the home to the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes! Whether you were involved in Texas Drill Team or just a dance lover Kilgore has a deep appreciation for the legacy the Rangerettes have created. While visiting the Sweethearts of the Gridiron explore our “Things to Do,” “Where to Eat,” and “Where to Stay” pages to have the best Dance-cation possible!

• Enjoy breakfast at the Kilgore Whataburger where you can find Historic photos of the Rangerettes along the walls and their Uniform on display.

• Since the Rangerettes represent the red, white and blue visit Harris Street Park to see the US Veterans Monument of Kilgore and while on that side of town drive by R.E. St. John where the Rangerettes have preformed for decades! For lunch, visit Edgar’s Big Taco and while there get a glass Coca-Cola to take a photo in front of the Coca-Cola Mural in Downtown Kilgore!

• Attend a Kilgore College Event! Check the college’s schedule for any evening performances or sports events. The Rangerettes often perform at various college events. For dinner visit the experience some of the best BBQ in Texas at Country Tavern.

• Grab breakfast at Memi D’s a local favorite with great coffee, breakfast sandwich’s, and you can pick up a snack for later!

• High-kick it into gear at the Rangerette Showcase and Museum, where you can learn about the history and legacy of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes. The museum showcases memorabilia, uniforms, and multimedia presentations. For Lunch enjoy a local favorite, Downtown D’Lites to get a soup, salad, sandwich and more!

• Don’t forget to strike a post with the K-Girl at the Rangerette Showcase or the Deana Bolton-Coven Gym and tag Visit Kilgore!

• Book a tour of Kilgore College’s Campus! See where the Rangerettes practice and perform. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Dodson Auditorium, where the Rangerettes Revels, their spring show, takes place. Eat at Johnny Ozarks, a cozy spot offering a taste of fried chicken, fish, and more!

• Have a quick breakfast at the Kilgore Sonic. Be on the lookout for Rangerette Camps or Dance intensives so you can learn some great dance moves! You can also always explore some thrift stores here in town!

The Grand Empress Tea Room is a great place to have a fun yet fancy tea party. Get a variety of sandwiches, scones, and desserts! Afterwards, explore the shops of downtown Kilgore you can buy some souvenirs along the way!

• While seeing iconic photo-ops like the Crim Theatre and the Depot, visit the Worlds Richest Acre to see Gussie Nell Davis’ and Deana Bolton Coven’s commemorative bricks! For dinner, check out Don Chepes for some great food!
